If the information sought is not given within the statuary period prescribed under the Right of Information Act that eventuality an appeal can be filed before the Departmental Head.

You can, if information given is vague and do not specify the query then also an appeal can be filed before the Departmental Head. If the department refused to give the information then as per the Section 7 of the Right of Information Act, whey will have to inform that the appeal can be filed. If the reply is not receive within the statutory period then it is also to be presumed that the application seeking the information stands rejected.
